On Country by Air is a private cultural helicopter experience that begins before you leave the ground. Arrive at the Aero Logistics Helibase in Mascot for a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony led by local custodians, followed by a native flavours morning tea. Board your private helicopter for a scenic flight over Sydney, with live Aboriginal storytelling from a facilitator who flies with you. Whole-aircraft charter, just your group, a licensed pilot and your facilitator. The Southern route covers Bidjigal, Dharawal and Gweagal Country, taking in the Royal National Park, coastline and rock engravings. The Northern route covers Gadigal, Cammeraygal and Guringai Country, past the skyline, Harbour Bridge, Opera House and Harbour to Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. Natcha Cultural Tours is Aboriginal-owned, founded by Eric Brown, descendant of the Yuin, Bidjigal, Dharawal and Gundungarra peoples. Choose 35 or 45 minutes, Robinson R66 or Bell 407. Itinerary
Stop 1
Ground experience. Arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled departure. Your experience begins here, before you board. Meet your Aboriginal cultural facilitator and First Nations custodians. Participate in a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony on Country. Share a native flavours morning tea of native food and beverage. Receive a safety briefing from your licensed commercial pilot. Then board your private helicopter.
Stop 2
Route 2A (Southern Sydney route): Bidjigal, Dharawal and Gweagal Country. One of the world's oldest national parks, seen from the air with live cultural storytelling from your on-board Aboriginal cultural facilitator. View the coastline, escarpment and ancient Aboriginal rock engraving sites from a bird's-eye view.
Stop 3
Route 2B (Northern Sydney route): Gadigal, Cammeraygal and Guringai Country. Fly over the city skyline, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Opera House and Sydney Harbour with live cultural storytelling from your on-board Aboriginal cultural facilitator. Stories of saltwater and freshwater Country delivered from the air.

Route 2B (Northern Sydney route): Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. Guringai Country. Ancient Aboriginal rock engraving sites interpreted from the air. One of the most significant cultural landscapes in the greater Sydney region, experienced from a perspective few visitors ever have.

When's the best time to fly?
Since Sydney is in the Southern Hemisphere, spring (September to November) and autumn (March to May) bring mild temperatures and clear harbour views. Summer (December to February) is hot with long days; winter is cooler but still mild by most standards.
What should I bring?
Sunglasses and sun protection, since Australian sun is stronger than it looks, even on a mild day.
